Graphic Designer/Web Developer

Why We Need You:

WAZER has created the world’s first desktop waterjet - democratizing manufacturing and bringing professional-grade fabrication to every workshop. Working at an early stage startup, you will have the opportunity to shape the brand image of WAZER to our growing, worldwide customer base. As the Graphic Designer/Web Developer, you will play a significant role in shaping the WAZER brand image by working to create compelling web experiences that address WAZER’s strategic needs for e-commerce as well as the development of technical documentation and printed marketing collateral.

Your Daily Role:

  • You’ll collaborate with the marketing and sales teams to execute WAZER’s content strategy and create assets for digital and print.

  • You’ll design and maintain content on wazer.com.

  • You’ll layout and design technical resources and documentation.

  • You’ll work with sales and marketing teams to create event booth designs and marketing collateral.

  • You’ll layout and design content for the WAZER community newsletter.

Must have Qualifications:

  • You have in-depth knowledge of Frontend and Backend Development, Web design, UI design, Squarespace, Shopify, and Mailchimp.

  • You display mastery in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator)

  • You demonstrate a strong skill in design layout, composition, and typography.

  • You have a strong knowledge of website usability, web optimization, e-commerce, user experience, and responsive design systems.

  • You have the ability to convey complex ideas in a straightforward and visually appealing manner.

  • You remain current in the digital design industry to be able to identify new techniques and trends.

  • You are a great verbal and written communicator.

  • You have excellent people skills. 

  • You are a self-starter who takes initiative and has the confidence to ask questions and seek input. 

  • You are extremely organized and good at managing your time.

  • You have a design portfolio that demonstrates your skills and explains your involvement in each project.

Nice to Have Qualifications:

  • You have experience working at a startup.

  • You have used and designed for digital fabrication equipment at work or for a hobby.

  • You are a maker, tinkerer or DIY enthusiast.

Location: 

We are located in the Brooklyn Navy Yard in NYC, where you’ll be working in an environment that is simultaneously our office, ideation studio, research lab, workshop, and final product assembly center, all under one roof. This allows us to collaborate and learn each other’s area of expertise, providing better solutions to our customers.

Our facility becomes a playground in the off hours. You are encouraged to design, make, and work on whatever personal projects you may have at the time. You will see electric vehicles, race car parts, plants, and art pieces around the office. Who knows what inspiration we use for the next problem we need to solve at WAZER!
