Noel is an industrial designer who is a big proponent of fast iteration and prototyping when it comes to developing new products. He has plenty of experience using 3-D printers and laser cutters for this purpose but complains that those machines are limited in the materials that they can work with. So when he had the idea of creating a carbon fiber mount for a wheelchair umbrella, he turned to WAZER for help.
The custom panel was made from 4mm-thick carbon fiber sheet. It replaced the heavier plastic panel and had the perfect mounting holes needed for the umbrella holder. The panel was cut by WAZER in roughly 6 minutes, using 2 pounds (1kg) of abrasive.
