Lubricating the Gantry

Keeping the gantry lubricated is important to ensure that it is able to move freely along the guide rods. An unlubricated gantry may bind up and cause issues with movement.

Tools Needed

  • Gloves

  • Mobile Grease Mobilux EP2 or other automotive grease with NLGI Classification 0, 1 or 2

  • A small ziptie

Procedure

1. Turn off your WAZER.

2. Make sure the Wazer is THOROUGHLY clean, all debris, abrasive, water, etc. should be cleaned from the bellows and surrounding area.

3. Gently open the bellows on both sides of the cutting head and on both sides of the Y axis.

4. Put on your gloves and apply a thin layer of grease to the guide rod with your finger near the guide blocks.

5. Manually move the gantry back and forth a few times to work the grease into the bearing, then move it along the full length of the guide rod to ensure the grease is spread along the entire rod.

6. Pull the bellows back over the bellows holders and make sure that they are sealed properly. To seal the side that is against the window, use a ziptie to push the bellows around the holder.

7. You have completed lubricating the gantry, run a Limit Switches Quick Check to verify that the gantry moves as expected and then continue cutting!
