No Water from Cutting Head

It's possible that when beginning a cut, you can have everything set up correctly but not have water coming from the nozzle. This guide will walk through diagnosing the possible causes and solutions.


Check:  Is the pump coming on during the cut?

  • Root Cause: The pump is controlled through the signal wire. If disconnected or damaged, there is no signal to turn on the pump

  • Corrective Action: Check cable and make sure it is fully connected. If you notice any damage, contact customer support.


Check:  Is the clicking noise missing when beginning a cut or performing a Nozzle Purge?

  • Root Cause: The high pressure valve on the right side of the main unit opens whenever a stream is initiated. If this valve is unable to open due to signal loss or a mechanism failure, then the WAZER will not function. This can also be a result of a misaligned safety feature.

  • Corrective Action: Adjust the Door Safety Magnets so that they properly contact the switches in the tank. If you still cannot hear the clicking, contact customer support.


Check:  Is there a knocking noise coming from the pump box?

  • Root Cause: The knocking is from a device called the unloader, which activates whenever the specified pressure is not achieved in the high pressure line. This typically occurs when there is a partial or full clog in the orifice, or a leak in the high pressure system.

  • Corrective Action: Please check for leaks around the high pressure hose lines, and then Perform an orifice replacement.


Check:  Is water pouring from the abrasive port hole?

  • Root Cause: Abrasive is delivered to the stream via the Venturi effect created from the high pressure stream. If there is a drop in pressure or a clog in the cutting head, then the stream of water will divert into the abrasive line and pour from the abrasive slip cover. There are no back-flow sensors in the WAZER to prevent this from happening.

  • Corrective Action: First let’s conduct a quick orifice stream check, this check let us know if the high pressure orifice is in good shape. Then please perform a nozzle clog clearing. If the problem persists, please perform an orifice replacement.
